Lanvain

What sets Lanvain apart from the competition?

We are the only Canadian brand of hairdressing furniture. Our products are of good quality at a good price.

Where does the furniture come from?

Our parts and products come from several manufacturers around the world, primarily in Canada, Italy, Germany, China, Japan, and the United States. All manufactured and assembled here.

What is the main feature of Lanvain products?

We comply with North American manufacturing standards by obtaining the required certifications regarding plumbing and electronic products.

How do you select your furniture?

We have a team of designers who select the best materials and design the ideal furniture for our target clientele. They follow trends, ergonomic standards, and manufacturing and durability standards.

Our products

Why does the Access unit come with the mounted vacuum breaker, while the other shampoo units don't?

The Access is a model that is more often sold in government projects such as seniors' homes due to its wheelchair accessibility. Government projects require a vacuum breaker mounted above the flood level.

Other units also have the variation offered with the vacuum breaker mounted above the flood level.

What are the benefits of anti-fatigue mats?

Anti-fatigue mats are often used to reduce foot and lower limb disorders in workers who stand for long periods.

Why are your anti-fatigue mats smaller than the competition?

Our designers noticed that standard five-foot mats were overlapping in salons that maximized their space. This doesn't create a beautiful look and makes moving around them prone to tripping. So, we created four-foot sizes to cater to a wider clientele. We're the only ones in Canada to offer these sizes in all variations.

Would it be possible to get your furniture in a color other than the one offered?

A multitude of customization options are available for each of our products. Simply email your request to info@lanvain.com, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Production times for special orders can typically take up to 14 weeks.

Is there a difference between chrome and black tap sets?

The difference between the two tap sets is the shower head. The chrome shower head is a shower jet, while the black shower head is a direct jet, like a bathroom faucet. If you want a black shower head with a shower jet, opt for the Whiz Spray.

Why is certification important?

Certifications for plumbing or electronic products are more important than you might think, especially when the product is used for commercial purposes. When a product is certified, consumers can have confidence in its reliability and safety. This ensures that the product has been evaluated for durability, performance, and potential hazards, in accordance with the rigorous requirements of Canadian standards. It also increases your chances of being covered by your insurance in the event of a claim caused by the certified product.

Technical information

My plumbing inspector requires a vacuum breaker on my shampoo units. What is my option?

All our faucets come with a built-in vacuum breaker. However, some Canadian cities or inspectors require a vacuum breaker mounted above the flood level. We offer this option for each of our sink units.

How can I get technical information about a product?

On our website, you can download the technical brochure in .pdf format for each of our products. There will also be a physical copy in each box.

What is the weight limit on your chairs?

The maximum weight limit for a styling chair is 250 lbs and for a barber chair is 350 lbs. This limit is based on the life expectancy and deterioration of our products. If the limit is exceeded, the prescribed life expectancy is reduced due to accelerated deterioration.

What color stains more?

Our textiles are 100% water-resistant polyester. Regardless of the color, they can stain or be damaged by the coloring and bleaching products you use in your hairdressing. To avoid damage, react quickly and clean with water and a mild soap. Avoid detergents. However, stains appear more easily on lighter colors. Lighter colors require more diligent care.

Why is it recommended having our shampoo units installed by a certified plumber?

Lanvain recommends using a certified plumber to install your sink units to avoid liability in the event of a claim. With a certified plumber, you can rest assured of a compliant and guaranteed installation.

Would it be possible to connect my shampoo unit from the side?

Most of our sink units can be connected to the water supply through the floor, the wall, or even the side, providing easy access. The stainless-steel sink base includes a pre-defined circle on each side to allow for pipework.

Problems

Why does my chair make a knocking noise when a customer sits on it?

This noise comes from the hydraulic base due to an air bubble inside the cylinder. The person's weight applies pressure, causing air to escape from the tightly sealed hydraulic system, thus causing this knocking noise. The sound should dissipate once the air has been completely evacuated.

To avoid this situation, do not move the chair without locking the hydraulic system. You will find the correct usage and the correct way to move the chair in your product brochure.

Why does my drain pipe keep breaking in the same place?

If your drain pipe regularly leaks in the same spot, this is likely due to improper installation. The sink unit's bowl pivots, so it's important to leave some slack in the drain pipe; otherwise, too much tension will build up, and the drain will eventually leak. All our shampoo units come with a 4-foot drain pipe. Cutting it to shorten it is not recommended.

My sink tilt system is loose, how can I fix this?

To tighten your sink's swivel system, only tighten the nuts under the basin that have a spring. Each sink has two spring nuts.

How should I assemble my furniture?

Most of our products come with a technical brochure inside the packaging for your reference when assembling your furniture.

You can also find this technical brochure on the product page of our website.

I have an irregularity in the leather of my chair. What can I do?

If your chair has an irregularity in the leather, heat the material with a hair dryer and stretch it at the same time. Otherwise, refer to our return and exchange policy

Do you have a more comfortable neck rest option?

If the standard neck rest doesn't meet your needs, opt for the Luna neck rest. View the product here.

Is there a solution to prevent the footrest of my chair from being used as a step?

Using the footrest as a step to sit on the chair can damage it and significantly shorten its lifespan. A practical alternative is the Gentlemen Floor Footrest. View the product here.
